“Pots are bowls with a thin neck, a wide belly, a lid and a handle for pouring liquids such as water and sherbet. In the Ottoman culture, pitchers were used to wash hands and faces, and their different forms were also used for serving liquid beverages such as sherbet in mansions, especially in the palace kitchen.

The patterns on the Turquoise Nacreous Ibrik were inspired by a jeweled pencil case adorned with turquoise stones and mother-of-pearl from the 14th century Ottoman period at the Topkapı Palace Museum.

Turquoise Nacreous pitcher is made of handmade glass and all the patterns on it are handcrafted and decorated using 24 carat gold, antique and pearl paints.

Production is limited to 2,000.
